This is an interesting one that I bookmarked some time ago that I also made in my Fever Tree review. I had a hard time finding a bottle of ROOT Liqueur from Art In The Age not realizing that they apparently stopped making it along with SNAP, those inconsiderate bastards (one less reason to even consider liking anything about Philadelphia (gak… Eagles… #%$@% Fylers!)). Once I did find a bottle I’d already forgotten about this drink only coming across it again looking for something to make with Club Soda for my Fever Tree review.
Strangely, what reminded me that I needed a new bottle of ROOT was an impromptu root beer float made for me at New Harvest Coffee & Spirits. The bartender concocted this with ROOT, Fernet, Soda Water and a house made whipped Irish Cream. I was really impressed by how much her concoction emulated a root beer float rather deliciously. I’m trying to remember if there was something in our conversation that mentioned ROOT being discontinued that went completely in one ear and out the other. It seems like there may have been but my mind may also be filling in blanks that don’t exist.
Coincidentally to the ROOT, New Harvest, and the cocktail I’ve made here was also a cocktail special they served at New Harvest that day called The Broken Arrow, also made with Rye and Maple Syrup. All of these goings on has helped finalize a new drink I think I finally got right, but more on that in a day or 2…
