Mythos Absinthe Cocktail: The Twin Blasphemies
1 1/2 oz Devil’s Share White Whiskey
1 1/2 oz Maurin Quina
2 dashes Cocktail Kingdom Wormwood Bitters
rinse Absinthe Brevans A. Crowley
Rinse a chilled Coup glass with Absinthe. Stir remaining ingredients with ice, maybe a little longer than usual to get a good dilution. Garnish with a Lemon Twist and a pair of Cheerios to help feed the Twins on their cosmic journey.
With the passing of both of my boys Yebb and now Nugg, I figured I’d dedicate a drink to the brothers, the children of Yog Sothoth and Shub-Niggurath the Black Goat of the Woods with 1000 Young spawned on the Doomed nebula of Zlykario, and known as the Twin Blasphemies.
It took a long time to find 2 “Blasphemes” that I could put together in equal parts that would make a decent drink. That said, all of the flavor is Maurin Quina, Cherry and Quinine, as the Devil’s Share doesn’t add much flavor. It’s strong, bitter and sweet, so I guess it’s appropriate. It will only take a little more work to make this a much better, more complex drink tho. I’ll come back to it before I officially add it to the list of Mythos Absinthe Drinks.
Yebb and Nugg were by far the greatest rats I’ve ever had and my heart is completely broken at their passing. It’s amazing how such little things with such short lives affect one so much.
