Wayne
Today I’m hosting another Binge and Booze Day (the first one was a binging of Cobra Kai) with another YouTube series in Wayne. Written by the writers of Deapool, Wayne is a story of a very single minded and determined kid named, well, Wayne. After his father dies he hops on a shitty motorcycle with his new, foul mouthed girlfriend named Del to travel from Southie to Florida so he can claim the ’79 Trans Am his mother stole from his late father.
As with Cobra Kai, I needed to make a couple of themed cocktails for the evening.
2 oz Bourbon
¾ oz Lemon Juice
3 oz Ginger Beer
3 dashes Bitter Truth Pimento Dram
Build in an ice filled Rocks glass, stir a bit, garnish with a lemon wedge.
This is based on the Beacon Mule which really is just about the same thing as a Kentucky Mule. I swapped out the Lime for Lemon and added some Bitter Truth Pimento Dram to add some “Truth” to the recipe (and it’s the only Bitter Truth product I seem to have left in the bar at the moment). It works very well. This may be my favorite Mule drink now.
1 oz Galliano
1 oz Tia Maria
1 oz Cream
Shake, strain, garnish with chocolate shavings.
This is a very rich dessert drink based on The Golden Cadillac. I changed out the Crème de Cacao with Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur. I like it, but it’s a drink I can’t drink a lot of being all desserty and sweetish. I used Tia Maria over any other Coffee Liqueur as the 2 Italian liqueurs used for this bring me back to the days of living in NJ with a thick Italian population driving Trans Ams.
