Drawlloween 2020 Block 3: Video Games

Blueberry Gimlet
1 1/2 oz. Empress Gin
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
1/2 oz. Lime Juice
6-8 Blueberries (plus a few more for garnish)

Add everything to a shaker. Muddle the blueberries. Add ice and shake. Double strain into a Cocktail glass and garnish with some whole Blueberries.

So, the boys found out the hard way that they don’t like MMOs. I can relate, I play games to get away from people, not to just listen to them be anonymous jackasses on the other side of a com. I know this isn’t always the case, but I just prefer being a loner in IRL and virtually.

I was originally going to make a Blueberry Whiskey Sour as a Blueberry drink, having passed on the idea of trying to come up with something that actually tasted like BooBerries, but passed on that as well. There were a few recipes I found but none of them really seemed to click right. I always like to make my Whiskey Sours with Egg White, and trying a reverse dry shake with Egg White and Blueberry Jam seemed kinda sketchy. I could have just tried it with a Blueberry Syrup but I honestly didn’t set aside the time to make another syrup. I did find another Blueberry Sour that featured muddled Blueberries in Vodka which looked interesting despite being a Vodka drink, but I didn’t have the Jasmine Koval. After some more searching, I found the Blueberry Gimlet and just went with that. I have no regrets.

This obviously tastes nothing like BooBerries, but it is rather nice if you like Gimlets. The Blueberries and sweetish Empress Gin tend to bring down the tart of the Lime a bit. I decided to use the Empress really because of the color.
